Coloring With Coastal Friends coloring book - now available!

Welcome to our two-months-in-one newsletter! I don’t know where September went, it must’ve been crazy. As you can see from the image above, my coloring book has been published! It’s available on my website (https://www.carrie-bowers.com/merchandise/p/coloring-with-coastal-friends-coloring-book), direct from the printer (Lulu), or in person at one of my markets (see the calendar here). Tell your friends!

Alley Cat Art Fest (Artival) booth setup

Alley Cat Art Fest (what was initially going to be Artival) went fairly well, though not as well attended as expected. I still had great sales and my whale (Their Ocean, Their World) finally sold after a year of lugging him to and from events. He went to a great home - a kind young lady who is also ocean-minded like myself, so it was such a wonderful feeling. It was a hot day, but I got to debut my new canopy fan and it helped quite a bit.

Early October brought a miserable heat wave, which also coincided with Pacific Beachfest. It hit 101 degrees at the beach. While terribly hot, it was a great opportunity to bring out my new coloring books and meet new people. It was quite the turnout, likely because we were steps from the beach and that’s where all the locals wanted to go to escape the heat.

Yesterday the heat wave was replaced by a tropical storm (Rachel) while I was at the Ladies at the Lake Fall Market. I’m told this market has a loyal following, and for being a rainy, windy day, it was still pretty well attended. Last night the back side of the storm moved through, bringing really strong winds that blew through our windows and slammed our bedroom door shut. Luckily all our trees held up, as did our roof.

Up next are two large markets in North County - Carlsbad Village Street Faire and the Encinitas Holiday Street Fair. Most of the shell magnets (above) sold at the Ladies at the Lake market so I’ve got work to do to get inventory caught up. Additionally I’ll have a lot of holiday ornaments to make and a couple more cards to design.

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Thank you all for your continued support!
