Named for its shape, the guitarfish is in the ray family. Its flat body and sandy coloring allow it to blend well with the sea floor. There’s photograph evidence that I may have eaten one as a child, but I’m not sure. You can find these guys hanging out with the leopard sharks in the shallow water at La Jolla Shores.
